Here is how you become an efficient pedlar!
Blossom and Tanlines
Winter continues at pace on the white Isle and thankfully the weather continues to be amazing ! Here are some recent rambles….
First up A central loop that takes you up north to the punishing climb out of San Antonio but then rewards you with the stunning scenery of Santa Agnes and its wonderful Almond trees and blossoms that are in full bloom this time of year
The beautiful pine covered hills behind Ibiza town are made for Mountain bikes and at the end of January its always nice to get some tan lines, no matter how feint!
Above the Clouds…
It was my birthday yesterday so I went for a ride up Sa Talaia the highest point in Ibiza…I rode through the clouds up into the silence it was pretty breathtaking.Happy Birthday to Ya
I’m still having Strava mapping issues so my widgets are not working properly ! Apparently its something they are working on and there is nothing wrong “my end”. So that is good.
Festive Riding and a Happy New Year!
Happy New Year All! Here at Casa VCI we are not really ones to bang on about the weather (much)…but suffice to say over the festive period and New Year we could not of hoped for much better, with temperatures averaging around 17 degress maxing out at 21 in the sunshine Xmas in Ibiza really has been all that it was billed to be and the food and festivities were not bad either!
Below are some of the rides I managed to get out on over the Xmas period;(Strava are having issues with there Widget displays apparently!)
It was hard to snatch the odd hour or two or three due to our 4 year old daughter being off school and our 7 month old son now demanding he eat everything he lays his eyes on, but when able to give the legs a spin Ibiza did not disappoint! Here’s to 2014 and more riding and discovery on the White Isle!
December Sun, December Riding
Oranges are not the only fruit.
The weather in December has been unexpectedly perfect…with some truly fantastic days. Today was no different, no wind and temperatures reaching 19 degrees in the sun making it easy to ride that little bit further and higher than planned thus today we toured the north side of the islands collection of pokey category 3 and 4 climbs.
Cycling Active – 3 Page Feature – Out Now!
Back at the start of the summer I was approached by Journalist / DJ and friend Lu Lu Levay who had heard of my move out to the island and the inception of Velo Club Ibiza, Lu Lu was keen for me to show her another side to Ibiza and being the fitness guru and writer that she we were sure that it would make a great story, Cycling Active magazine also agreed and commisioned a piece on cycling on the white Isle. So in September this year Lulu flew out and spent some time riding with Velo Club Ibiza and the following 3 page article is the result. We love it and and hope you enjoy the ride..er…read!

VC Ibiza x The Eagle – Tips on Road Cycling. Part 2
Getting Fresh….
November had been fresher weather wise as we see winter finally hitting the white isle. There really is no Autumn here just Summer, Spring and Winter. November although colder continues to be great riding weather…with beautiful sun light and a transformation in the landscape from the burnt soil of summer to the lush greens of fertile farmland.
